1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?
I moved to Manchester around 5 years ago, after working in the hospitality sector for a couple of years I was looking for a career change. A friend of mine who worked at a recruitment agency recommended PayStream as a great place to work. I came to the interview where I met some of the team and from there on out it was a no-brainer.
2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?
I spend most of my time looking after our My Max Exec umbrella employees to ensure they have the best experience possible with PayStream. This consists of answering any queries they may have, preparing references, as well as liaising with other departments and agencies to name but a few tasks. Trust me when I say no two days are the same.
3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?
PayStream strives for everybody to reach their full potential. The support we receive from management is second to none and it really does help get the best out of us all. As I mentioned earlier, I previously worked in a hospitality background so it’s also very refreshing to be in bed before 4am!
4. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?
100% the people, I’ve made friends for life at PayStream with whom I spend lots of time with outside of work with them too. I even got to live a dream of mine and became a bridesmaid at a PayStream wedding back in October! This isn’t just for Customer Care but across departments too, we all interact with each other. It’s made a lot easier to get to know other people and make friends with people in other departments at the assortment of events set up across the year from quiz nights to activity days, up to the grand finale and my personal favourite – the PayStream Christmas party.
5. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve actually been to over 100 football grounds (league & non-league). The pandemic massively slowed down my tally, but I finally hit the big 100 last summer watching my hometown team Worcester City. It was made even more special by finally returning to Worcester after 8 years away. I’m determined to finally cross Wembley off this year, but on the condition that we won’t talk about the Euros.
6. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?
Outside of work you will mostly find me either watching the football in my local, going to gigs, or chasing my cat Rudy when he’s doing something he shouldn’t be!
